Gryphon Sculpture by Kazulgfox Gryphon Sculpture by Kazulgfox
: D this was a project i did for my illusion of life class last month. the assignment was to sculpt a humanoid form and a animal form. so i decided to sculpt my fursona, Kazul. :D i ran out of clay so i couldn't finish the wings in time. but i'm still planning on finishing it.

i made it out of a wire armature, then bulked out the body with foil and tape then added a layer of super sculpy. WOOooo!

sadly she got broken by a careless roommate (could have been sabotage, but i'll give her the benefit of the doubt)

hehe, the eyes are ball bearings, or as i like to call them, stealies. they are smaller than marbles and make beautiful eyes!marbles also make good eyes if you are doing something that big, but i haven't had anything that big to work on. thanks for your comments Griff! *pounce hug*

Even if it's not finished, that is one of the more wonderful sculpts (especially of a gryphon) I've seen on dA. And I look at a lot of fantasy sculpts. I love the way her face is formed, so lovely! (And yes! Ball bearing eyes! I often use epoxy clay that dried rock hard for eyes, but it does the same thing.)

Also gotta ask because of the name... Enchanted Forest Chronicles fan? :D

thank you so much! i appreciate the meaningful comment, really! epoxy clay, eh? i might try that when i run out of ball bearings!

and yes, that is were my name came from even though i haven't read the books :P a friend gave the name to me in elementary school when we were role playing at recess. and the name stuck :D
